When creating an eye-catching book cover, you have to think like a reader. The cover design becomes a piece of the story’s puzzle. These book covers and story layouts were created as part of my year in college.
The children’s book “How to train your pig to fly” captures the dreams of a girl and her pig. I used illustrator to create the pig and all of the magic that surrounds him. The illustration of the pig is carried through each chapter title page in the layout design.
The young adult novel “The Woodbegoods” is a tale of family adventures and lessons. I wanted to capture the feeling of a classic tale through the muted palette and illustrations. Graphic elements from the cover are carried through each title page to bring consistency through the design.
